The statue

Deep in the forest, a dark hooded figured winced at his master’s orders.

Though his master was only a hologram, his voice was as loud as if he was standing directly in front of him.

“I want the child! I must rule the world!!!”

“Master, I will do anything for you but I can’t do this. You must forgive me.” The hooded figure trembled.

“Be quiet, someone is coming.”

The figure was amazed by his master’s sense of hearing for he himself, had not heard a thing.

Not knowing who was coming, the two were forced to change spots again. Nobody knew where they are now and they never will.

  1. Hi Natalie,

Wow! I really enjoyed reading your story – it is full of mystery and suspense. I love the way you open it; it really sets the tone, and using the verb ‘winced’ makes the relationship between master and figure very clear. I love the cliffhanger ending too – who is coming? What will happen? Will the master get the child and rule the world?

Thank you for entering the 100WC!
